Lynnfield Water District is pleased to have been recognized for two 2020 Public Water System Awards from the Drinking Water Program of the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (Mass DEP).  The District received an award for Outstanding Performance and Achievement in Compliance being among the top 12% among 779 water systems in the state. The District works daily to achieve this level of excellence in carrying out the important task of protecting and supplying safe, high quality water to its customers.

In addition, the District received an Award for Outstanding Performance and Achievement for Energy Conservation, reducing energy use by approximately 38,740 kilowatts per year and generating an estimated of savings of over $7,300 in annual operating costs.  To achieve these savings, the District qualified to receive an energy grant to improve its water boosting through the Mass DEP.  As a result, water pumping equipment and heating systems were replaced with more energy efficient units.
