While you may have been reading about water restrictions in Lynnfield, there is currently no water restriction for residents who reside within the Lynnfield Water District; only residents living within the Lynnfield Center Water District. The two Districts serve different areas of the town and each District has a distinct source of water. The Lynnfield Water District sources its water from the Quabbin Reservoir through the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority, and, due to its size, residents within our District are rarely required to restrict their use. There are currently no restrictions if you live within the Lynnfield Water District’s service area.

An easy way to determine which District serves your home is to check the color of the fire hydrants in your neighborhood. If you see red fire hydrants, your water comes from the Lynnfield Water District; green fire hydrants indicate you are a resident of the Lynnfield Center Water District.
