The District obtained a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (MA DOER) to complete an evaluation study to identify energy savings alternatives for our booster bump station. The District has demonstrated energy savings after the implementation of some of the “no cost” operational recommendations in the study.

Following the successful implementation of the operational changes at the pump station, the District applied for funding through the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) Gap II Funding program for capital improvements. The District was awarded $79,443 in grant funding to implement the recommended replacement of the pumps at the booster pump station. Replacement of the existing pumps will provide additional energy and cost savings for the District. This work is planned to be completed in the fall of 2019.
